10 Unforgettable Days Currents and Pelagics of the Deep South
There is a certain feeling of pure freedom that settles in when you leave the busy central atolls behind and head into the wild, raw beauty of the Maldives’ Deep South. From January 11th to 21st, 15 adventurous souls joined us aboard the EcoPro Mariana for a journey filled with heart-pounding channel dives, majestic tigers, and that warm "home away from home" vibe we love so much.

Turtles and different Kind of Sharks
We kicked things off with a refreshing start at Kurumba Reef, but the real action started at Cocoa Corner. In a strong incoming current, we were surrounded by dozens of reef sharks and massive green turtles. To end our first day, we had a beautiful, relaxing dive at Dhigiri with nurse sharks. That's the perfect way to ease everyone into the holiday mood.

The Eagle Ray Parade
Southern diving can be a bit workout, especially in the deep channels. At Fushi Kandu, after facing a medium-plus incoming current, we were rewarded with a breathtaking sight: 16 (sixteen!) eagle rays soaring in perfect formation. Seeing those beaming smiles in all divers faces is exactly why we love what we do.
Fuvahmulah: The Apex Experience
The highlight for many was Fuvahmulah. This island rising from the deep sea provided the ultimate adrenaline:
The Big Guys: An incredible Tiger Dive with 6 to 7 tigers circling throughout.
The Party: We celebrated Antonio’s birthday, a 300-dive milestone plus a Nitrox Diver Certification. The energy on our small, intimate Mariana was electric!
