The Maldives is one of the last great shark destinations on earth. Since 2010, the entire country has been a shark sanctuary, and it shows. Reef sharks patrol the channels, whale sharks glide through the blue, and in the far south the big pelagic hunters cruise the current. One honest word before we start, because we would rather set the right expectation than sell you a fairy tale. This is the open ocean, not a zoo.
