So, the bags are packed, the fins are ready, and you’re about to head to paradise! We can’t wait to welcome you aboard. To make sure your transition from the airplane seat to the dive deck is as smooth as a calm sea, we’ve put together this little EcoProDivers Maldives arrival and departure guide.

Landing in Paradise: Getting to the Boat
Your adventure starts at Velana International Airport (MLE). Before you touch down, make sure you've got your passport (valid for at least six months) and your Imuga (Traveller Declaration) form filled out online within 96 hours of entry. Keep that QR code handy!
Once you've cleared customs and grabbed your bags, head toward the arrival exit door. Keep your eyes peeled for an EcoProDivers sign and your boat's name, either EcoPro Mariana or EcoPro Seascape. Our team will be there to greet you with a smile starting at 9:00 am.
Killing Time in Style
Since we coordinate group transfers, the first boat transfer is usually at 12:00 pm, with another one at 4:00 pm. If you have a bit of a wait, don't worry:
The Best View to overcome the waiting: Just across from the building exit, you’re standing right at the edge of the Indian Ocean. Take a moment to soak in that incredible turquoise water!
Hungry: Head over to the Food Court in the terminal. Whether you need a coffee or a full meal, there’s something for everyone.
Stay Connected: Want to share your first manta photos right away? We definitely recommend picking up a local SIM card. You’ll find providers like Dhiraagu or Ooredoo right to the right of the exit toward the Domestic Terminal. It's super easy to find.
Meet-Up Point at 12 pm and 4 pm in front of Burger King
Our main hub for gathering everyone for the transfers is the Burger King in the departure hall. It's the perfect spot to grab a seat and meet your future dive buddies.
Need a Lift Outside Group Times?
While we prioritize group transfers, we know travel plans can be unpredictable.
If you wish a transfer outside the scheduled group times, we can arrange it for a fee of 15 USD per person.
Late Arrivals: If your flight lands later in the day, don't panic: we will still meet you at the arrival exit according to your flight time.
Special Routes: Heading South?
If you’ve booked one of our special itineraries for the Deep South starting in Gan or Kooddoo, remember that we won’t be meeting you in Malé. You’ll need to walk over to the domestic terminal and check in for your flight yourself. You can book these via maldivian.aero. We’ll be waiting for you with a high-five at the domestic airport on the other end!
Please keep in mind that the Maldivian domestic flight schedule might change on short notice, which eventually causes longer waiting times.
Heading Home: The Bitter-Sweet Part
We hate saying goodbye, but we’ll make the departure as easy as possible:
Check-out: Cabins need to be free by 7:00 am on your final day.
Transfer: We’ll get you back to the airport via group transfer between 7:00 am and 8:00 am.
Still time left before leaving? Keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming blog posts, where we’ll share the best tips for those who want to spend another day or two to round off their journey before heading home!
